Resumen/Abstract

 

En Chile la astacicultura es una actividad comercial que recién comienza, tanto a nivel de especies exóticas, como nativas. Chile tiene un gran potencial para el desarrollo de la astacicultura, ya que en nuestro país existen en forma silvestre cuatro especies de camarones de agua dulce posibles de cultivar. Una de éstas, y la con mayor potencial es el camarón de río del sur, Samastacus spinifrons. Esta especie puede convertirse en una innovadora y alternativa fuente de ingresos para los agricultores del sur de Chile. Sin embargo, aspectos referentes a su biología y manejo hasta hoy no se han clarificado y existe poca información disponible. Menos aún se tiene conocimiento acerca de posibles agentes patógenos que afecten a la especie. El objetivo de esta revisión es analizar los diversos agentes patógenos asociados a enfermedades y síndromes descritos para los parastácidos en el mundo, que pudieran afectar a las especies autóctonas o importadas de estos crustáceos en nuestro país, con el propósito de contribuir al conocimiento que se tiene en relación a estas especies.

F. Barrera. Sanitary records of Samastacus spinifrons in Chile and other parastacids in the world

The astaciculture is a commercial activity that is in recent establishment in Chile, at the level of exotic and native species. Chile has great potential for the development of crayfish culture, as in this country there are four native species possible to cultivate. One of this species is the “camarón de río del sur”, Samastacus spinifrons. This specie could become an innovative and alternative source of incomes for the farmers of southern Chile. Nevertheless, aspects of their biology and management have not been clarified yet, and only little information is available. Also, there is no knowledge about pathogens that can possible affect this specie. The aim of this review is to analyze the diverse pathogens of parastacids described in the world, associated to diseases and syndromes, that could affect the native and imported species of this crustaceans in Chile, with the purpose to contribute to the knowledge of this species.
