"La
influenza aviar constituye un peligro para los medios de subsistencia
rurales, la producción avícola y la salud humana. Básicamente el virus
H5 N1 habría emergido por reordenamiento genético (reassortment). La epidemia
ha devastado la industria avícola del continente asiático y ha causado
la muerte de 32 personas. La amenaza para la salud humana perdurará mientras
existan casos de gripe aviar en el ambiente. El virus H5 N1 aún circula
en la zona". ¡Según la OMS la epidemia no podrá ser controlada fácilmente.
Existe preocupación de que el virus aviar se mezcle con un virus influenza
humano y se genere un nuevo virus transmisible entre seres humanos, que
podría ser responsable de una pandemia global de influenza!.
Avian influenza
is a threat for rural livelihoods, avian production and human health.
Probably subtype H5 N1 has emerged from genetic reassortment. Asian avian
influenza has devastated avian industry of the southeast Asian continent;
furthermore it has caused about 32 death in human beings. It is obvious
that threaten to human helth will length as viruses exist in the environment.
Subtype H5 N1 still is circulating in the southeastern of Asia. "According
to WHO avian flu epidemic will be controlled only after arduous efforts.
Moreover, there is a high concern about generation of a novel virus after
dual infection of humans with avian and human influenza virus, and occasional
transmission from human to human may result in a global outbreaks of influenza
that affect a high percentage of individuals and cause increased mortality.
